Educational Field Study was also helpful for me in knowing how Koreans worked hard to have a better country and life."

Why did you decide to study Saemaul UNDONG in the PSPS?

I decided to study Saemaul Undong in PSPS through the recommendation of my Korean mentor and encouragement of my boss, Congressman Arthur B. Robes of the Lone Congressional District of the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. I was told that this will help us in community development in rural areas in our District.

What is your most impressive experience in the PSPS?

The most impressive experience I had in PSPS was during our Saemaul Spirit Campaign where we all have to wake up early in the morning and practice diligence and cooperation through cleaning the surroundings. Educational Field Study was also helpful for me in knowing how Koreans worked hard to have a better country and life.

Please tell us what your job in your country is.

As one of the Congressional Staff in the Lone Congressional District of the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, I coordinate community-based programs in our district and help in the implementation and evaluation. I also help in the research and submit documentation of all the bills filed in the House of Representatives.

I am also an educator, trying to help the young set directions to have a better life for their family, community and country.

With your Saemaul UNDONG knowledge, what do you want to do for your country?

I dream to see my country with enough food on the table, availability of jobs and a safe place to live in. My desire is to see that everyone is working for the development of the community and make use of all the resources available whether human or natural resources. I want to help people in the community to maximize the use of their resources and launch sustainable programs to have developed, independent and free from poverty communities through people’s cooperation, hard work and diligence.
